Kennedi Childs is a doctoral student in FSU’s Combined Counseling and School Psychology PhD program who aims to become a licensed psychologist committed to reimagining healthcare that treats the whole person, not just the diagnosis. She has a strong personal and professional interest in preventative, holistic care and in removing barriers to effective pain management. In addition to increasing accessibility to complementary and alternative pain management strategies, she aims to study the intergenerational impact of stress and trauma, and to modulate the maladaptive psychological and physical corollaries of adverse experiences in adolescent and young adult populations with contemplative-based practices.
