Health Care Executives

Bring Complementary Medicine to Your Organization
Health care organizations across the United States have implemented complementary medicine to scale low cost, accessible pain management to their patients.
Our Approach
At the Complementary Health Innovation Lab, we believe that advancing whole-person health takes a team. We’re dedicated to integrating evidence-based complementary approaches—like mindfulness, cyclic breathwork and other mind-body practices—into the heart of conventional care. Our mission is to make these practices not only accessible but essential to every clinical interaction.
Whether you’re a health care executive, researcher, institution or community organization, we invite you to join us in redefining what’s possible in patient care. Together, we can:
Proven efficacy
Backed by randomized controlled trials, CHIL’s mindfulness-based interventions offer scalable, rapid and durable relief from pain and psychological distress.
Published results from multiple randomized controlled trials demonstrate that both brief (<15-minute) and 2-hour, single-session mindfulness-based interventions can lead to clinically meaningful reductions in pain intensity, pain unpleasantness, anxiety, pain catastrophizing and desire for pain medication. Outcomes are consistently observed across diverse patient populations, including those undergoing surgery, managing chronic pain, recovering from orthopedic procedures, or living with cancer.
In our studies
- Up to 81% of patients experienced a ≥50% reduction in pain following a 2-hour online session
- Pain medication use dropped to zero in 75% of patients after treatment in some trials
- Self-transcendent experiences and mindfulness gains were shown to predict long-term improvements in functioning and satisfaction
- Mindfulness interventions delivered during clinic visits significantly outperformed standard education in reducing acute pain and anxiety
These results affirm that CHIL interventions are not only effective—they’re feasible, scalable and ready for implementation at the point of care.
Measurable benefits, consistently delivered
CHIL’s interventions make it possible for health care organizations to deliver rapid, evidence-based pain relief right at the point of care. By embedding brief, scalable mind-body therapies into existing clinical workflows, our solutions reduce treatment delays, ease burden on providers, and improve patient satisfaction from the very start.
Our research-backed interventions, like mindfulness, breathwork and self-transcendence practices, offer a low-risk, patient-centered approach to pain care. These tools are designed to complement conventional treatments, enhancing outcomes without adding time or complexity to busy clinic settings.
Whether it’s a 10-minute practice in the waiting room or a brief session before surgery, our models are designed to seamlessly integrate into the care process. Studies conducted by the CHIL and its partners show that even ultra-brief mindfulness interventions can produce meaningful reductions in pain and anxiety, rivaling outcomes from much longer traditional programs.
By transforming how and where pain care happens, CHIL empowers health care systems to deliver more human, effective and accessible treatment—at scale.
